Blog 5: Changes to my study program

Imagen
Hi everyone again! Today in this last blog for this class. I`m going to talk about changes that I would apply in the study program of my career.  One thing that I would change is the infrastructure of the FCEI, like have better conditions in the classrooms, for example have comfortable chairs in the editing rooms because in that way our backs will thank us. Other thing about the infrastructure are improve the bathrooms, normally we don`t have soap and toilet paper, so we need carry our things if we need go to these places. A important thing that I would like to change is the number of hours that we should dedicate to the basic training courses. For me is very hard maintain a class that demands me to many hours like "Fiction workshop" my principal class and the most important of my career. But the teachers of this classes don`t care about the other things that me and my classmates from Film and Television, need to do. Like made a short film to the final test or do a big and ex...

Blog 4: Time travel to the past or the future

Imagen
Hi everyone today Im going to talk about whether I would like to travel to the past or to the future. Well, I would honestly like to travel to the past, specifically to the year 2017. Because in that year I would have liked to spend more time with my Tata, who up to that moment was still lucid in his mind. I remember him telling me stories of his boat trips, because he worked as a fisherman, but he claimed to be a sailor in a large fleet. My tata died in 2021, at that time I was in my last year of high school. I remember his burial and I really couldn't cry, it's hard for me to cry in public, but my chest was twisting. I was very sad to know that he had left this world without remembering many of us, every time he saw me he would say "who are you young man?" and I would say "No tatita, I am Mati, his grandson" and he would stare at me with a lost look, I can not express the feeling one has when one sees that look of a person who at the time told you with spa...

Blog 3: My future job

Imagen
In the future I would like to be a great cinematographer, because for that I am study this major. The image is very important for the narrative of a story in the movies, but not only to show the events that occur on the screen, photography has an expressive treatment beyond the simple fact of showing. The creative process behind image treatment is a job that requires a lot of communication and understanding of the "subject" of the team. So, one of the most important skills to be a good cinematographer is communication and understanding of the human team, and undestanding when and how position the camara. Because the camara is the element who will narrate the film. As for salary, I don't really care much about money. I prefer to be doing something because I like doing it and I love my career. But I understand that this career is too expensive. If you want to do or be part of a project, the amount of money you need is very high. So yes, I would need a good salary if I want ...

Blog 2: Best vacation ever!

Imagen
Hi everyone, welcome back to my personal blog. Today I`m going to talk about for my best vacation that I ever have, which was in January 2019. The trip was to Chiloe , in the South of the country, Chile. At this moment I never gone to the south part of the country, so that trip was my first time in another part of the country with other landscapes that do not have a lot sand on his streets, yupi! In this trip I was gone with my parents and sister. We were in Chiloe for 2 weeks, and with my family we take a trip agency. So we can go and visit to many places in Chiloe, like ¨El muelle de las Almas Navegantes¨, that its a strange bridge in the middle of a hill. This place have a interesting legend that is when the navigators die at sea their souls come to this place to take a spectral ship to go to the heaven.  Also in Chiloé I ate a lot of "curanto", a dish that is typically cooked by hiding it under the ground, cooked with the heat that the earth stores, because first a bonfi...

Blog 1: A country I would like to visit

Imagen
Hi everyone, welcome to my first blog of the second semester! Today I`m going to talk about the country that I would like to visit, and that is Germany (yep, controversial decision). I choose that country because one of my favorites series was record there, the name of the serie is DARK. And my favorite cinematographic movement born in this country, so if I go in the future I will be very happy. Well I know a few things about Germany, like there have a good beer (so delicious), also in this country the old architecture its to protected by the government. Other thing that I know of this country is a place with a sadness and terrible history. I would like to go to the historic places that have this country, like Auschwitz and Munich. I have so much interest of the tragic histories around the place and the consequences of that in the collective memory. Also I would like to go out on electronics bicycles and crash with a big tree (I don`t know why I have this dream). In a future I wo...

Hi, my name is Matías Elgueta. I am 18 years old and I was born in the city of Iquique, in the north of Chile. I am a film and television student in my second year. I am very happy for this. I like watch films in my house with people or alone, play some online videogames, cook and I really like go out to see new places in Santiago. Also I like know new people. I lived all of my life there in Iquique with my mom, dad, sister and my dog. I have too many memories there, my friends, my family, my confort zone in other words. I remember go out with my friends to climb "El Cerro dragón", a gigant dune in the city. Or go to the beach, although I don't really like it, but it´s okay. With my mom we used to go see movies at the cinema, thanks to she I like cinema, the books, the philosophy a little. I really miss my family and my friends there, I really really miss my dog named Max, but when I go back to Iquique I like go out to thee street with it. Iquique isn´t a big city, but th...
